A leg bruise is a state of illness marked by collection of blood beneath the skin of the legs, around the bones of the legs or within the underlying muscles of the legs. It is accompanied with mild or extreme pain, depending on the severity of the affliction. Though a leg bruise may not lead to bleeding, it can at times cause blood to ooze out. - Warm Compress: Applying heating pad or warm towel for 15 minutes and at least three times a day can cause the blood around the bruise to dissipate.
- Cold Compress: Compressing the bruised region with ice can constrict the injured blood vessels and disperse the accumulated blood. This treatment needs to be carried out at least three times a day and for 15 minutes duration.
- Elevating the Legs: When you keep your legs raised, you make way for the accumulated blood to flow back. This often reduces swelling.
- Massage: Massaging the bruised area with some kind of special oils can cause the swelling to subside.
- Sun Rays: The warm rays of the sun can cause the accumulated blood to dissipate.
- Vinegar Treatment: Apply vinegar mixed with warm water to the bruise. This causes the accumulated blood to thin out.
