  • Ensure that you consume proteins in each meal. Proteins limit the absorption of carbohydrates, which in turn prevents sudden spikes and drops in blood sugar levels.

  • It is recommended that you eliminate refined foods like refined sugar, white flour, white pasta, white rice, etc from your diet. Limit the intake of milk, ice cream and other dairy products. Coffee, tea and alcohol are also considered to result in hypoglycemia.
  • Avoid all forms of processed foods and foods which contain preservatives. These foods are not only difficult to digest but also contain chemicals which may be harmful to the body.
  • Increase the intake of raw vegetables, fresh fruits, whole grains and lean meat. These foods can replace the hypoglycemic triggers and help in effective management of hypoglycemia.
  • Green vegetables like spinach, parsley, broccoli, etc. are loaded with essential vitamins and nutrients.
  • Whole grains contain dietary fiber which improve digestive functions and fight gastro-intestinal distress.
  • Lean meat including chicken and turkey and eggs are loaded with proteins which are beneficial for the body and act as building blocks.
